Wayfair Pricing Class Action Lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed against Wayfair alleging the company misled consumers by advertising products at “sale” prices that were not actually discounted. According to the complaint, Wayfair displayed higher strikethrough prices alongside lower “sale” prices to create the appearance of significant discounts, even though the products were rarely, if ever, sold at the higher price.

Plaintiffs claim these strikethrough prices served as false reference points, making consumers believe they were receiving limited-time deals or major savings. The lawsuit alleges that this pricing strategy influenced purchasing decisions by creating a sense of urgency and value that did not reflect the true pricing history of the products.

The complaint seeks to represent a nationwide class of consumers who purchased items on Wayfair’s website at prices advertised as discounted from inflated reference prices. Plaintiffs allege violations of consumer protection laws and are seeking damages, legal costs, and changes to Wayfair’s pricing and advertising practices.

Because the alleged conduct involves widespread online pricing practices affecting a large number of shoppers, a class action lawsuit may follow or expand if the court allows the case to proceed on behalf of affected consumers.
