Ulta Beauty Gift Email Class Action Lawsuit

A new lawsuit alleges that Ulta Beauty sent promotional emails advertising “free gift” offers that were misleading to consumers. According to the complaint, the emails suggested shoppers would receive a free item with purchase, but key conditions and limitations were not clearly disclosed upfront.

Plaintiffs claim that after clicking through the emails and spending time shopping, consumers often discovered that the supposed free gift was unavailable, required additional purchases, or was subject to restrictive terms that were not apparent in the original message. The lawsuit argues this practice created false expectations and influenced purchasing decisions.

The complaint further alleges that Ulta’s marketing tactics violated consumer protection laws by using deceptive advertising and false urgency to drive sales. Shoppers claim they would not have completed purchases, or would have spent less, had the true nature of the promotion been clearly explained from the start.
