Uber Arrival Time Class Action Lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed against Uber alleging that the company misleads riders by displaying inaccurate and overly precise arrival times in its app. According to the complaint, Uber often shows exact pickup estimates—such as “3 minutes away”—that do not reflect actual driver availability or real wait times.

Plaintiffs claim these estimated arrival times create a false sense of reliability and influence users’ decisions when selecting ride options. In some cases, riders may pay more for services advertised as faster or more immediate, only to experience delays that contradict what was initially displayed.

The lawsuit argues that Uber lacks the ability to guarantee such precise arrival times, making the representations inherently misleading. Plaintiffs contend that riders rely on these estimates when choosing between ride types, planning travel, or deciding whether to use Uber at all.

The complaint seeks to represent a nationwide class of riders who may have been affected by inaccurate arrival time estimates. Plaintiffs are pursuing damages, refunds for any premium services purchased under misleading assumptions, and changes to how Uber presents timing information within its app.
