Kirkland (Costco) Signature Tequila Class Action Lawsuit
A lawsuit has been filed against Kirkland Signature Tequila, sold by Costco Wholesale Corporation, alleging that the product does not meet its “100 % agave” labeling claim and thereby misleads consumers. The complaint asserts that the tequila may instead contain spirits derived from non-agave sources, meaning the product could fail to meet regulatory standards for “100% blue weber agave” tequila.
According to the plaintiffs, buyers paid a premium for what they believed was a high-quality, pure agave spirit. The lawsuit argues that if the true composition were known, the consumers either would not have purchased the product or would have paid significantly less. While production details are disputed, the issue centers on labeling accuracy and transparency in sourcing/production.
