Fiji Water Recalled Due to Dangerous Bacteria

Natural Waters of Viti Ltd. issued a recall for nearly 79,000 cases of Fiji water after testing revealed manganese and three bacterial genera.

The recall affects Fiji Natural Artesian Water with production dates Nov. 11-13 and 24-25, 2023, according to The Wonderful Co. Consumers can find the production dates on the back of the bottle etched below the label.

While studies have not shown it is harmful to consume manganese in food or beverages, some individuals have developed manganese toxicity by drinking water containing high levels of the chemical element, the National Institutes of Health report.

More than 99% of these bottles have already been reclaimed from warehouses, and the remaining products are on hold and returning to the company, The Wonderful Co. says.
