Bumble Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed against the dating app Bumble after a data breach allegedly exposed users’ personally identifiable information (PII). The complaint claims the company failed to properly secure the sensitive data it collected from users, allowing unauthorized parties to access the information during a breach that reportedly occurred around January 2026.

According to the lawsuit, Bumble did not implement adequate security safeguards to protect user data or ensure that the information was stored in accordance with industry standards and applicable regulations. Plaintiffs allege the company failed to follow proper security protocols, including measures related to encrypting and protecting stored personal information.

The complaint seeks to represent a nationwide class of individuals whose personal information was stored by Bumble and potentially exposed to unauthorized parties during the breach. Claims in the lawsuit include negligence, breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, and violations of consumer protection laws.

Because the alleged breach involves a widely used dating platform and sensitive user information, a class action lawsuit may follow or expand as more affected users come forward. If the case moves forward as a certified class action, impacted individuals could pursue damages and seek changes to the company’s data-security practices.
